One Wall Can Change the Whole Room

You do not have to tile everything from floor to ceiling. Sometimes one area is enough to complement the furniture, finish the space behind a vanity or create an accent in a living room or entryway.

A smooth surface, natural stone markings, mosaic and dimensional tile each create a different result. It can be especially interesting to see how light brings out the texture throughout the day: the finish stays the same, but the impression changes.

A Good Start Deserves a Good Finish

On a sample, the tile ends at the edge of the sample. In a room, there are corners, doors, windows and outlets nearby, and each of those meeting points deserves attention.

Before installation, we plan:

  • The boundaries and height of the tiled area.
  • The layout and cuts around openings.
  • The treatment of outside corners and exposed edges.
  • Transitions to painted walls and other materials.

These details help the finish look complete, rather than as though the tile simply ran out halfway through the idea.

The Base Should Suit the Finish

The condition and flatness of the wall, the selected tile and the way the area will be used determine the preparation and installation materials needed. A decorative living-room wall and a shower wall call for different approaches; in wet areas, we also consider the necessary waterproofing.
